Viewing DICOM Images

MODALIZER+ is a full DICOM workstation – it displays DICOM files from your local computer, from CD/DVD/USB media, and from any connected PACS. Drag-and-drop files onto the window, click Open Files to browse for individual files, or Open Folder to load an entire folder’s contents at once. Using the CD/DVD DICOM Viewer

Every CD/DVD that MODALIZER+ burns automatically includes a DICOM CD Viewer, so patients and physicians can review their studies and reports anywhere – no separate software install required. Double-click the DICOM Viewer application in the disc’s root folder to browse its contents.

Viewing a PDF from a DICOM Encapsulated PDF File

To extract the original PDF from a DICOM Encapsulated PDF object, click the PDF icon in the Viewer – MODALIZER+ converts and opens the file in your system’s default PDF viewer.

Attaching Scanned Documents to the Patient Folder

MODALIZER+ automatically identifies any compatible camera or imaging device connected to your computer; if more than one is available, choose the one you want from the drop-list in the upper left of the Image/Report panel. Click the red capture button to take an image – its thumbnail appears in the panel below.

Sending the Same Study to Multiple Destinations

Once an operation completes, use the Send to option on the operation-completed screen to send a copy of the study to another DICOM application. Choose the destination from the drop-list next to the button – if it isn’t listed yet, open Settings and add it as a new Storage Server first.

MPPS – Modality Performed Procedure Step

MPPS is a complementary service to Modality Worklist. Once a procedure starts via a Modality Worklist query, MODALIZER+ creates a new MPPS referencing that study. MPPS reports one of three statuses:

• IN PROGRESS – the procedure has started.
• COMPLETED – the procedure finished normally.
• DISCONTINUED – the procedure was stopped partway through.

Enable Automatic MPPS in Worklist Server settings to have MPPS updates sent as studies complete.
