DICOM Structured Reports and DICOM Encapsulated PDF
MODALIZER+ features a unique reporting tool that allows you to create DICOM Structured Reports (DICOM SR) and DICOM Encapsulated PDFs using customizable templates. This tool integrates seamlessly with your PACS and Worklist Manager, making the reporting process smooth and efficient.
Creating a Report: Create a DICOM Structured Report by typing text in the report text panel in the “Acquisition” screen.
Selecting Report Format: Select the “DICOM SR” option in the “Create report as” section on “Convert to DICOM” screen.
Automatic File Management: The DICOM file containing the SR will be automatically saved in the designated destination folder as a separate series.
Viewing Reports: Load the report in the Viewer to display it.
Creating Reports with MODALIZER+
With MODALIZER+, you can easily create detailed reports in two formats: DICOM SR (default) and encapsulated PDF. Here’s how to use this feature:
Filling a Report
MODALIZER+ automates the reporting process, saving you time and ensuring accuracy. It pulls patient and study information directly into customizable templates, which you can personalize with your logo, signature, and stationery style.
Steps to Create a Report

Start a New Procedure:

Click the New Patient button on the main screen.

Fill in the patient’s details and click NEXT.

Select Template:

On the Acquisition screen, go to the Image/Report panel.

Use the dropdown menu at the bottom right of the report bar under ‘Add formatted report’ and select a report template from the list.

Formatted Report:

Click the Formatted Report button to create a new report using the selected template.

Edit the report as needed and save it as a PDF.

Close the editor and ensure the PDF is added to the bottom panel.

Attach an Existing PDF:

Use the Add files button or drag-and-drop to include an existing PDF in the report.

Create a DICOM Structured Report:

Enter your report details in the text panel on the Acquisition screen to the right of the image acquisition.

Choose the DICOM SR option to save your report as a DICOM file. The file will be automatically added and can be viewed later.
Once you open the created studies you will see the PDF and/or the DICOM SR.
Customizable Report Templates
MODALIZER+ makes it easy to enable the use of templates that automatically fill in patient details, study information, and more. A report template is saved as RTF Document with placeholders for values that are automatically filled while following the Acquisition wizard.You can customize these templates with your branding and select from multiple options based on the procedure.

Adding a New Template to Formatted Reports in MODALIZER+
To ensure a new template automatically appears in the dropdown menu for formatted reports in MODALIZER+, follow these steps:
- Prepare Your Template:
- Create your report template in RTF. Ensure it includes placeholders like $PatientName$, $AccessionNumber$, etc., for automatic data filling.
- Open MODALIZER+:
- Launch the MODALIZER+ application.
- Access Report Template Management:
- Go to the Settings menu or the Report Templates section in MODALIZER+.
- Add the New Template:
- Click the Add New button.
- Select your RTF file from your computer and upload it.
- Configure the Template:
- Name for the new template
- Save the Template: It should now be added to the list of available templates.
From now on, when in the Image/Report pane of the Acquisition screen you will have the report format you entered as an option in the dropdown formatted report list.
